Two Kinds of Imagination 两种想象

This photographic project incorporates the artist's presence in vintage postcards of the Brighton Pavilion, a symbol of the Western fantasy of the Orient, and explores how the West constructs the Orient through the "Chinoiserie", and how the "other" is perceived and imagined in non-native cultures. Originally featured in T Magazine China, this project was awarded 3rd place at the KLPA (KL Photo Awards). It has been exhibited internationally, including the Reflecting the Real open call at Photo Museum Ireland and the Un-Definition China Youth Photography Art Exhibition. Additionally, the work was highlighted in IMA Magazine (Vol. 43) as part of the 'World’s Emerging Photographers' feature.
