The Concept

Figgy Grocery is a lifestyle brand I launched in 2025, but its heart was planted years ago in a backyard that was, frankly, a bit of a botanical battlefield.

Before I moved to London, my dad went through a very intense (and very specific) gardening phase. His rule? Edible produce only. Our yard became a high-stakes trial run for blueberries, avocados, dragon fruit, and kiwis. He was convinced we were living in a tropical microclimate.

Nature, however, had other plans.

One by one, the tropical plants surrendered to the first cold, rainy winter. My dad, ever the optimist, tried the dragon fruit again and again, but they never quite got the memo. Then there were the strawberries; they actually survived, but the local birds operated a high-speed intelligence network and always ate them exactly one day before we were ready to.

The only one that stood its ground was the fig tree.

It didn't just survive; it thrived. Eventually, it produced so much fruit that even the birds got bored. My favourite memory from those years was filling a basket with the overflow and heading to the local cafe to swap fresh figs for a delicate piece of cake. It was my first lesson in the "economy of sharing."

That tree is the root of everything I do here. It taught me how food and home connect us. We are a young brand, currently focusing on ceramics and wax pieces that celebrate nature and the table. But like that fig tree, we’re planning to grow.

My vision for Figgy Grocery is to evolve into textiles and glassware, specifically through collaborations with female artists who share this love for craftsmanship and storytelling. I want to create a "grocery" of lifestyle goods that carry that same spirit of abundance and trade.

I hope you find something here that feels like a fair swap for a bit of joy.
